Vaccination Services and Medical Check-up
Preventive Health Checks and Vaccination Protects Your Family and Your WorkplaceVaccination is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting individuals against harmful diseases. In Malaysia where it is densely populated, the chances of us catching a virus such as hepatitis or meningitis that circulates easily within the community is high. When we fall sick and have to miss work or school or pass the disease onto our family, many other deeper health or financial issues can occur. Studies showed that the group with influenza vaccination was able to reduce 78% of employees absenteeism compared to the non-vaccinated group. Apart from this, the vaccinated group was able to help the employers to save up to RM 150 per employee in their annual medical expenses. Without vaccines, we are at risk of serious illness and disability from disease like measles, meningitis, pneumonia, pneumococcal, pertussis, influenza, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B, chicken pox etc. Many of these diseases can be life threatening. When an individual gets vaccinated against a disease, their risk of infection is also reduced, so they are also far less likely to transmit the disease to others. As more people in a community get vaccinated, fewer people remain vulnerable and there is less possibility for passing the pathogen on from person to person. This is especially true when you have young children in schools where viruses and germs can be spread quickly. Lowering the possibility for a pathogen to circulate in the community protects those who cannot be vaccinated due to other serious health conditions from the disease targeted by the vaccine. This is called “herd immunity”. Two key reasons to get vaccinated are to protect ourselves and to protect those around us. Because not everyone can be vaccinated – including very young babies those who are seriously ill or have certain allergies - they depend on others being vaccinated to ensure they are also safe from vaccine preventable disease. Protect your family, schools, workplace and community by ensuring you have your basic vaccinations covered. |

Vaccination Services We Offer
Influenza VaccineThe flu virus is highly contagious and spreads easily in office workplaces where air-conditioning units circulates the virus around, or if you have small children at home or work in school.
It is a common culprit that causes people to be sick and not turn up for work or perform at their best. Companies and employees therefore exhibit a decrease in productivity. Flu symptoms include:
The flu shot helps prevent employees from getting the flu, reduce work absenteeism and average medical cost savings up to RM 150 per person. The flu vaccine is suggested to be injected yearly. |
Pneumococcal VaccinePneumococcal pneumonia is a serious lung infection disease, where death related causes make up of 10% of hospital deaths in Malaysia.
The complications of pneumococcal pneumonia include:
Individuals with chronic medical illness such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, smokers, chronic heart and lung disease are strongly advised to inject the Pneumococcal vaccine to help prevent fatal lung infection. This vaccine needs only to be taken once per lifetime. |
Hepatitis B VaccineHepatitis B virus (HBV) is the third most common infection among travellers. It is transmitted from person to person by contact with infected body fluids (saliva, semen, and vaginal fluids), transfusion of contaminated blood or blood products, sexual contact, or use of contaminated needles or syringes for injections.
Hepatitis B can lead to liver cirrhosis, liver cancer and even death. Hence it is always recommended to be vaccinated before the disease occurs, as there is no cure if you have the condition. This vaccine is suggested to be injected once every 3 - 5 years, depending on the Hepatitis B antibody level after a blood test. |
Cervical Cancer VaccineCervical cancer develops in a woman's cervix (the entrance to the womb from the vagina). It is the second most common cause of cancer for women in Malaysia. About 6 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed and around 2 die from this dreaded and tragic disease every day in Malaysia.
Cervical cancer often has no symptoms in its early stages, and it is caused by a sexually-transmitted virus called HPV (human papillomavirus). If you experience bleeding after having sex, or bleeding outside of your normal periods, or new bleeding after the menopause; it is best to get it screened by a doctor. In order to prevent cervical cancer, it is recommended for women to get the vaccination before the age of 45 and regular pap smear health screenings according to the healthcare professionals. The cervical cancer vaccine is administered 3 times in the course of a lifetime. |
Typhoid VaccineTyphoid is a gastrointestinal infection caused by the Salmonella typhi bacteria. It is transmitted from person to person through the fecal-oral route, where an infected or asymptomatic individual (who does not exhibit symptoms) with poor hygiene practices passes the infection onto another person while handling food or water. Untreated typhoid fever may lead to gastro-intestinal haemorrhage, bowel perforation, permanent neuropsychiatric complications and even death.
The Ministry of Health Malaysia recorded 32 confirmed cases of typhoid in 2015 during an outbreak in Kuala Lumpur, as a result of poor hygiene practices. Based on this it is required by the authorities that all employees in the food manufacturing, food handling, hotel and restaurant industries be injected with the Typhoid vaccine. This Vaccine is suggested to be taken once every 3 years. |

Is Vaccination Safe?
Successful immunisation is a global health and development success story. The World Health Organisation (WHO) data estimates that vaccines save between 2 – 3 million lives every year.
Statistics show vaccines are able to prevent more than 20 life-threatening diseases, helping individuals to live longer, healthier lives. Immunization is a key component of primary healthcare and an indisputable human right. It is also one of the best health investments money can buy. Vaccines are also critical to the prevention and control of infectious-disease outbreaks as small as companies, areas, national and global pandemic.
Using our body’s natural defense to build resistance towards specific infections and stimulate your immune system stronger, vaccines contain only killed or weakened forms of germs like viruses or bacteria, they do not cause the disease or put an individual at risk of its complications.

Vaccination is safe, the side effects from a vaccine are usually minor and temporary, such as a sore arm or mild fever. Severe side effects are possible but extremely rare. All licensed vaccines are rigorously tested across multiple phases of trials before it is approved for use and regularly reassessed once it is introduced.
Scientists are also constantly monitoring information from several sources for any sign that a vaccine may cause health risks. An individual is far more likely to be seriously injured by a vaccine preventable disease than by a vaccine. For example, the influenza or pneumococcal virus can cause local infection and reduce working performance or require hospital admission, pneumonia can cause serious lung infection and lead to death. The benefits of vaccination greatly outweigh the risks and many more illnesses and deaths would occur without vaccines. Vacpest has zero tolerance towards low quality and unregistered products. The products we use are registered under the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), and we only work with qualified license holders in all areas of the logistics - from supplier to distributor, to clinics, and to companies (on site vaccination).
